We set off at 9.15 am and found a glassy sea and a slight mist. We headed north for Corfu and Gouvia marina and arrived at 11.15 after 30 miles. We refuelled and found our allotted space on the pontoon and looked around. This is where the boat will have her permanent home. We arrived - so we opened a bottle and toasted ourselves and the success of our trip. We were sad in a way that it was over because we enjoyed seeing all the places but we have so much to explore here - the Greek islands and Croatia are all within easy distance from here.

The last sunset
(From Michael)
Well here we are in Corfu after 1442miles and 91.3 hours at sea. Silueta has been fantastic and is very comfortable to live in. We have had many favourable comments about her and it is amazing to me that since leaving Mallorca we have not seen a single Nimbus despite the fact that she looks so good, provides us with much needed shade, yet allows us to live outdoors most of the time. We thought our time at Port Adriano was a delight, in great part thanks to Andreu, and I was apprehensive about arriving in Gouvia Marina, which I booked on the internet in January, because the pilot book was a little disparaging and it could have been a disaster. I was worried that we would have language difficulties with the service engineers, as we had in the past in France and Spain, and concerned about how well the boat would be looked after in our absence. Yet here we are in this splendid marina, looking out on beautiful countryside, with marina staff who could not be more helpful, all speaking excellent English (We are trying some Greek but it is not easy and every Greek we talk to tells us something different to say for the basic words). With so much beautiful coastline to explore using Gouvia Marina as a base, a lovely climate, and clear blue seas what more could we want. We have had 215 visits to this website so far and I hope we have given you all some involvement in what to us has been a great adventure.
We feel very pleased with ourselves just as we had been when we had been to Aunt Betty buoy and back all those years ago. It’s just the same only the scale is different. There will be still be people in Poole harbour feeling pleased with themselves for having been to Aunt Betty buoy. So to them and to boaters everywhere and to everyone Salutations from
and thanks for looking in.
Cheers!
